The Biomedical iNet (Innovation Network)is a £2.2 Million European Project that aims to serve the Biomedical sector in the South West region by providing specialized support which includes;helping companies to accelerate the uptake of their biomedical innovations, translating the ideas into commercial reality and assistance with developing International markets for their products or services.i2r Medical is an approved supplier to the iNet and as such provides specialized advice to early stage inventors or companies involved in non-healthcare related sectors who wish to develop a medical device

Eykona Technologies
Eykona Technologies Ltd, a medical technology business spun out of the University of Oxford, have developed a hand-held 3D imaging device to meet the recognized unmet need for the objective measurement and characterisation of hard-to-heal wounds such as diabetic ulcers. i2r Medical worked closely with the Eykona development team and senior management to translate the highly innovative concept into a commercial device ready for full scale production. Eykona successfully launched the device in the UK in Autumn 2011 and is now actively engaged in exporting into the US market.
Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Charity
We are currently working with this renowned organisation to assist in the development of an idea that requires detailed Intellectual Property searches and some ‘out of the box’ thinking to progress it to a feasible product that can undergo clinical testing.
Inotec AMD
Inotec AMD are a specialised woundcare company focussed on developing products to deliver oxygen to the wound. The healing of chronic wounds is proven to be accelerated with the introduction of pure oxygen and our work with Inotec AMD has enabled them to deliver this directly to the wound site without hindering the management of the exudate. A unique oxygen delivery system designed by i2r Medical, in conjunction with Inotec AMD, is the perfect adjunct to their Natrox(TM) oxygen generator.
TrusTECH
i2r Medical has been working with TrusTECH, the NHS Innovation Hub for the North West, to translate a surgeons’ idea into a format that could gain interest from a commercial entity. The idea is a novel device that creates space and organ retraction in the abdomen to aid in a number of operations, most commonly Gallbladder removal. i2r Medical produced one of its Innovation Binders that has taken the idea towards a UK Patent Application and includes a high quality animation.
